Hendery

Robert and Lila Hendery celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary at their home, with a family reunion arranged by their children. They were married on Aug. 4, 1945 at St. James Church, Johnson City, N.Y.  Bob and Lila have nine children, 26 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

Alicia (Swiatlowski) and Dick Calagiovanni
calagiovanni Alicia (Swiatlowski) and Dick Calagiovanni are celebrating their twentieth wedding anniversary on Oct. 6,2010. Alicia is a native of Fulton and was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church. Dick grew up in DeWitt and belonged to Holy Cross. They were married in 1990 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Syracuse by Father Joseph Scardella.
Alicia is the daughter of the late Pauline (Koski) Swiatlowski and Joe Swiatlowski of Fulton. Dick’s mother, Catherine Calagiovanni, is a resident of the Villas at Summerfield Village on Onondaga Hill and his father, John, is a resident of Van Duyn Home & Hospital, also on Onondaga Hill. Alicia and Dick have one daughter, Julia, who is a recent graduate of West Genesee High School and will enter Yale as a freshman in the Fall of 2011.
Alicia is an attorney and partner with the law firm of Costello, Cooney & Fearon in Syracuse. Dick, a former producer with WCNY-TV, is now affiliated with the FIOS customer service division of Verizon in Syracuse. They are parishioners of the Cathedral where Alicia is a lector and they are both Eucharistic ministers. Dick is also active in the video productions of weddings and the Sunday
homily at Cathedral.
Alicia and Dick will celebrate their anniversary with a Spring 2011 trip to Italy.

Vincent and Mary Godlewski
Godlewski Vincent and Mary Godlewski, of Lyncourt, celebrated their 30th anniversary on June 21, 2010. In August they traveled to Napa and Sonoma Valley California enjoying the weather and wine of the region. The couple was married at St. Matthew’s Church in East Syracuse by Father Dennis Hayes. They have been parishioners of St. Daniel Church for 27 years with Msgr. Eugene Yennock’s spiritual guidance.
Vincent is a vocational instructor with the Syracuse City Schools and a Master Plumber. Mary is a registered dental hygienist and is employed at Dr. Thomas Mahar.
Their family includes daughter, Amanda who is engaged to be married to Joseph Kalaska, Sons Aaron and Andrew. The children all attended St. Daniel elementary and Bishop Ludden  Jr/Sr High School.
The couple has been very active in school and parish activities while the children were growing up. They enjoy camping and traveling with friends and family. They attended a Marriage Encounter weekend several years ago and are members of the central city core enriching their marriage through bi-weekly meetings. Mary’s parents have been married for 66 years and reside in Lakeland Florida.

John and Margaret Ware
wareJohn and Margaret Ware of Liverpool recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. They celebrated the occasion by vacationing in Atlantic City.
They were married on July 20, 1985 at St. Daniel Church in Syracuse by Father Edmund Castronovo. A reception was held at Le Moyne Manor. John is employed by the Onondaga County Water Authority and Margaret is employed by EBS-RMSCO, Inc. They are parishioners of St. Margaret’s Church in Mattydale. They both enjoy going to the casinos and vacationing in Florida.

Walter and Trudy Moore

moore Walter and Trudy Moore celebrated their 60th anniversary on Aug. 22. Walter and Trudy (Bayer) were married in 1950 in Glens Falls, N.Y. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Trudy Bayer is a survivor of the Holocaust in Hitler’s Germany and was forced to leave with her parents in 1940 after World War II had begun. She graduated from Glens Falls High School and Cortland State Teachers College and taught physical education in Pulaski, Scotia and many other schools.

Walt is a Cazenovia native. He taught and coached at Hamilton High School and retired from the Pupil Benefits Plan, an athletic insurance company, as their C.E.O.
The Moores have lived in Cazenovia for many years where they have grown apples and run a bed and breakfast. They are members of St. James Parish. They have six children — Dennis, Lynn, Barclay, Neale, Martha, and Stephen. There are also 11 grandchildren.

They will celebrate their anniversary in September, to coincide with the marriage of their oldest granddaughter in Saratoga, with a family reunion at the Gideon Putnam Hotel.
