Harlan and Margaret Ann (Hennigan) Nicolini of Solvay celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 5, 2009. The couple was married on Sept. 5, 1959 at St. Patrick Church in Syracuse. Harlan worked 37 years at Allied Signal before retiring. Margaret Ann worked 26 years as an L.P.N.; five years at City Hospital and 21 years at Van Duyn Home and Hospital. The family includes two children and two grandchildren. Harlan and Margaret Ann are both members of St. Cecilia’s Church in Solvay. A wonderful reception in their honor hosted by their childrenwas celebrated with family and friends on Sept. 6, at Borio’s Restaurant in Cicero.

Edward and MaryEllen (Reardon) Gavin celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 20th.
They were married at St. Andrews Church in Binghamton in 1959.
They have raised six children who love them dearly and have been blessed with 12 beautiful grandchildren who adore them: Kyle, Kevin, Casey, Kalin, Kerri, Gannon, Riley, Brendan, Katrien, Gavin, Shane and Erin.
The family celebrated with a dinner in their honor at Russell’s Steak and Seafood House.

Herman and Rose (Zingaro) Fedrizzi of Jordan, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 8, 2009. They were married at St. Cecilia’s Church by Father Denti in Solvay.
Their marriage has been blessed with four children and their spouses: Cathy and John Meixner, Susan and Michael Speach, Robert and Kathy Fedrizzi, and Christopher Fedrizzi. They have seven grandchildren – Michael, Melissa and Connie Speach, David Meixner, Kyle Fedrizzi, Gabriella and Tyler Fedrizzi.
Herm and Rose are communicates of St. Pat’s Church in Jordan. Herm is an active member of the Msgr. Meaney Knights of Columbus, an usher at St. Pat’s Church, and volunteers for the Jordan-Elbridge School District’s sports and reading programs. Rose is active with the St. Patrick’s Altar and Rosary Society and the Jordan Ladies Study Club. Also, they both can be found volunteering at the Jordan Fall Festival or making candy at the Speach Family Candy Shoppe. Their real love is being involved with their grandchildren’s activities.
A family celebration was held on Oct. 11, 2009 at their daughter Susan’s home. We wish them a very happy 60th anniversary!

Frank and Julia Dohnalek were married 60 years ago on Sept. 3, 1949 at St. Patrick’s Church in Binghamton. Frank and Julia are now members of St. James Church in Johnson City. Father John Donovan of St. James recognized their anniversary with a special blessing at Mass on Sept. 3, 2009. Their marriage has been blessed with five children, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. They celebrated their anniversary with a party at Cortese’s Restaurant hosted by their children and attended by family and a few close friends.
